Some Advice From A Professional

Let's Face It!

When it comes to selecting a DJ, most folks don't really know where to begin.  Some look in the phone book, some go to the internet, some even pluck a business card from a restaurant bulletin board.  While all of these can be starting points, it's critically important to select a DJ who meets your needs in a reliable professional manner.

Here's A Few Tips

First, NEVER hire a DJ until you have spoken in person with him/her.  You'll be surprised how much you can learn in the course of a conversation.  Is the person you're speaking with courteous and genuinely pleased to hear from you or, do they have a superior "know-it-all" attitude? Are they willing to listen to your expectations and ideas and offer suggestions or, are they telling you how they are going to run your event?  Does he/she slander of speak ill of other DJ's?

Does the potential DJ have experience in your type of event and, if so, how much?  Does he/she hold membership in professional organizations such as the American Disc Jockey Association (ADJA)?  Are the fees in line with your market (Rates for the Mid-Tennessee area generally fall into the $450-$1500 range although larger or more complex events can be higher priced.)

We would sincerely love to be part of your event but, if you decide on another service, do yourself and your guests a big favor by asking questions, doing some checking and, most importantly, keep in mind that your event is much too important to trust to anyone less  than an experienced professional.
